France-based Accor Grows Ibis Hotel Brand in China
(EVRY, France) -- Recession or not, China is getting more hotels.
Accor, a 42-year-old lodging corporation based in Evry, France, has signed 10 new Ibis hotels in China, growing the Ibis network to 26 hotels and 5,348 rooms.
Nineteen more Ibis hotels will open during 2009, taking the network to 45 hotels by the end of this year.
According to Accor, the new hotels include two properties in Beijing which will open by the end of 2009. They are the Ibis Beijing Capital Airport and Ibis Beijing Wangjing. That will increase the number of Ibis hotels in the capital of China to three.
Qingdao, the well-known holiday resort, will also witness the opening of two new Ibis hotels in the coming two years--Ibis Qingdao Donghai and Ibis Qingdao Ningxia.
Other Ibis hotels include Ibis Dalian Zhuanghe and Ibis Jinan Jiefang, both scheduled to open by the end of 2009.
Beyond 2009, Ibis hotels have been committed to four new cities in China, with the signing of Ibis Shenyang Tiexi, Ibis Anshan Shengli Square, Ibis Baotou Aerding, and Ibis Weifang Qingnian, further strengthening the Ibis hotel network in North China, states Accor.
